Learn more about recertification for your CPIM certification. CPIM Recertification

You should check the APICS website (link below) for the most up to date and accurate information.

Every 5 years following initial certification, you will be required to maintain your certification status through a system of points (75 for CPIM and 100 for CFPIM).

You earn points based on your involvement in the following categories:

I.                   Continuing Education (CE) - must relate directly to resource management to apply

II.                   Presentations, Publications, and Educational Development (PPED)  (* Only 80% of your total points can come from this category) - must relate directly to resource management to apply

III.             Service to the Resource Management Profession (SRSP)

IV.             Professional Membership (PM)

You must complete a document journal which will enable you to properly complete your application for recertification, then submit it along with your $75.00 processing fee.  You do not submit "supporting documentation" with your application.  If you are selected for random auditing, you will be notified to submit your documentation at that time.

Examples of ways to earn points:

  1. APICS Membership (individual member or Corporate Voting Member) is worth 6 points per year under the PM code.  (Associate members - nonvoting corporate members do not get these points).
  2. APICS Chapter Professional Development Meetings are worth 1 point per hour of presentation (generally 1 point per month) for each meeting attended under code CE.
  3. APICS Conference Attendance is worth 24 points for full attendance under code CE.
  4. SIG membership is worth 1 point per year under code PM.
  5. APICS chapter, region or national board membership is worth points ranging from 1 to 5 depending on the level of participation.  Chapter BOD members get 2 points for holding an officer position, 1 point for a Board Member at large.
  6. Taking and passing the CSCP exam is worth 20 points.
  7. Presenting instructional material at APICS meetings or teaching the APICS BOK is worth 2 points per instructional hour under code PPED.
  8. Articles for publication in our newsletter or APICS magazine is worth 2 points per article if the subject matter directly relates to Resource Management.
  9. You can also earn 30 points by writing and publishing a book that relates directly to Resource Management.
